A trip launch needs emails, captions, posts, and countdowns, a mountain of copy that used to eat my team's month. AI writes it in an afternoon now, but only because of HOW we ask. These are the four prompt patterns I teach, in the order I use them.
“Ask it who the top people are, and whoever they say is number one, pretend you're that person and do this for me.”
The four patterns
- Role prompting, upgraded: don't just say "you are an email copywriting expert." Ask the AI who the top experts in the field are, then have it embody whoever it names first. You get the craft standards of the best, on demand.
- The interview pattern: paste your itinerary and say, read this first, then ask me questions one at a time to get the best result. Its questions surface the once-in-a-lifetime details you forgot were special, and those details are your hooks.
- Tone cloning: paste your own website copy and ask what the tone is. Then require every piece it writes to match. Your launch should sound like your brand on its best day, not like AI on its average one.
- Sensory selling: ask for highly descriptive, second-person copy that places the reader in the scene. When the email makes them taste the lobster, the booking button gets clicked.

Iterate inside the chat
The biggest mistake is taking the first draft and hand-editing. Don't edit, direct. Make the emails twice as long. Go back to my itinerary and make this better. Give me a caption table with photo suggestions and hashtags. Now a ten-day countdown sequence. One itinerary in, an entire launch out, and every word still auditioned for you before it shipped.
Common Questions
How do you get better results from AI writing?
Use role prompting properly: ask the AI who the leading experts in the field are, then have it work as whoever it names first. You get the craft standards of the best on demand.
What is the interview prompt pattern?
Paste your source material and instruct the AI to read it first and then ask you questions one at a time. Its questions surface the specific details that become your best hooks.
How do you make AI copy sound like your brand?
Paste your own existing copy, ask the AI to describe its tone, then require every piece it writes to match that description.
